From Buffalo to Brooklyn - 2022 W.E.Draft Ready to Roll!!!

Over 50 partners are confirmed for the New York State wide, Women’s Empowerment Draft. Twenty-four SUNY & CUNY schools have agreed to sponsor 31 NYS K-12 schools including public, private, and charter schools from Buffalo to Brooklyn. The shared goal - to honor the namesakes of these particular schools and turn that name carved in stone into a celebrated presence.

Each school and college will receive basketball jerseys designed by artist Jillian Mullen and educational trading cards research by Alfred University students under the guidance of instructor Dan Napolitano. The jerseys will be worn by one student representative from each K-12 school, joining one student representative from each college on a Feb 15 zoom ceremony. They will read the impressive biographies for an edited video segment which will be posted on-line on international Women’s Day (March 8, 2022).

Additionally, each of the 31 icons are assigned a specific day in March to pay tribute. The school or college that creates the most creative on-line post will win $500 in art supplies for that corresponding K-12 school. Follow #WEdraft2022 and @ArtForce5 for daily posts throughout March.
